Community Currencies (currencies that are only able to be used in particular communities, like Ft. Worth) are popping up all over the globe. If Fort Worth acts soon enough it has the potential to lead the way for Texas!

Community (or "Complimentary") Currencies offer something that other kinds of infrastructure can not-- a medium of exchange that can facilitate other brilliant ideas (like yours!). This is called Mutual Credit. There is no reason that only one or two (or even five) of the other ideas expressed on the site can not come to fruition. There are so many brilliant minds in our home here in Fort Worth-- to limit our progress to one or two ideas is a barrier to progress itself!

Money allows projects to happen, but our federal currency is scarce. Many communities have found that by starting local currency programs they can generate employment, boost local purchasing, provide local market loyalty, and solve many other economic problems that the interest-heavy dollar can not seem to resolve.

Think about a more local Ft. Worth-- a place where we know exactly where our money is going and why, and where money facilitates change for the better, not for the worse, by staying local and benefiting the immediate community.
