When placed within crosswalks, these signs remind drivers that pedestrians have the right-of-way. On many occasions, I have watched pedestrians wait patiently for cars that do not slow down when approaching pedestrians in a crosswalk's bounds. I have even watched as cars honk at pedestrians when they have the right-of-way. Great examples can be found across the country in many more "walkable" areas.
