For several blocks along Jones Street, in the area of the Intermodal Transit Center, there are many surface parking lots. This real estate could be put to much better use (as I explain in other ideas here) and help beautify the area. I propose erecting another parking garage, probably bordered by E 12th, Jones, E 11th and Calhoun streets. The garage should be around 3 to 5 levels high to replace that number of surface lots and free up that real estate. If feasible, maybe some or all of the parking could actually be underground to keep the view unobstructed. The garage should be a showcase for modern (especially sustainable) technologies. Solar (possibly even wind) power, electric car charging stations, water bottle refill stations and other amenities should be supported. Greenery could be incorporated. Also for aesthetics, perhaps the ground-level portion could be ringed by storefronts. Some storefronts could even be small, temporary/short-term
