This is not so much an idea but a desire. I want Downtown Fort Worth to be the economic, cultural, social heart of the Fort Worth metro region. I think more jobs is big thing, good paying jobs at that. In addition to more employment there needs to be the housing to support the new workers. Housing of varying price-points is extremely important. The oil and gas executive and waiter or retail work should be able to find digs with-in walking or biking distance. We should aim for an additional 23,000 jobs and 23,000 full-time residents by 2023. There is no reason we shouldn't be the second-largest employment center in D/FW. However, we can be the number one downtown in residents.
