While running the Trinity Trails the other day I was looking at the two Tandy Center Subway station shells in the parking lot for Panther Island Pavilion and thought it would be cool to turn them into public art pieces.

One historically based idea would be to paint the old subway cars on the sides facing the river (see images for example). Make it really vibrant and active. Another idea could play off of the nicknames of the city. One station could be Cowtown and the other Panther City.

We could engage the local art community with a design contest and see what they come up with. Could be a great addition to the new trails that have gone in on that side of the river.
