Piezoelectric lights for Bike Lanes

Bike lanes are currently being installed all across Fort Worth, but as they grow rapidly, we need to insure that bikers feel safe sharing the rode with other vehicles that can be extremely dangerous if not alert to bikers being on the road. One idea is to implement lights that are powered by piezoelectric units underneath the bike lanes. This means that as a bike passes over the sensor, it converts the kinetic energy into electric current and powers a light. Basically, the bike path lights up only as someone is riding on it and is dark otherwise. Might be a bit messy in the details, but we're brainstorming right? :)
