Better connectivity will be discussed going forward. The T is currently exploring the launch of a bike share program in Fort Worth. The T has applied for a grant with the Federal Transit Administration to help cover capital costs and the organization expects to hear back in July. The plan is to roll out 300 bikes and 30 bike sharing stations by Summer 2013. Stations would be located Downtown and in nearby urban villages, including the Near Southside, Hospital District, West Seventh Street and Cultural District.

I think it is great to have bars in Fort Worth and new food spots but what we need to make sure that we have is something that connects all the great locations- 7th street, downtown, Near Southside, and the new and upcoming Uptown. I think the light rail is something that needs to be revisited. If not the light rail then we need to at least promote ways to get from those cultural districts to the others...bike taxis...bikes. Fort Worth is spread out right now but slowly becoming more and more knitted together. We are throwing in a huge tollway to connect the eaast side to the west side of the city...why can't we connect neighborhoods that are even closer together?
