In Bear Creek Park (Keller) we have a native-only garden that not only helps sustain native plants and animals but also educates people on the benefits of going native (less watering, low maintenance, attracts local wildlife). Let's plant some of these in and around downtown Fort Worth!

Since our area can support plants from almost every zone in Texas, let's even create micro representatives of the various regions as best we can.

Aesthetic signs could explain to viewers what the various plants are and how they can benefit from sticking with natives. Local nurseries that specialize in natives (and garden clubs) could sponsor the plots, and citizens would be encouraged to help develop and maintain them.

This is part of Lady Bird Johnson's dream-- let's keep it going!
