The new downtown bus shelters are very lovely to look at. Nice aesthetics and almost like sculpture in their appearance. And the posters with scenes from Fort Worth history or celebrating Fort Worth's notable citizens are nicely done and informative. However, they do not truly shelter the riders who are using them. They do not offer much shade from our sweltering Texas summer sun, I have been drenched while attempting to avoid rain while waiting for buses, and the concrete areas around the downtown planters offer much more comfortable seats whenever you can find them near a downtown bus stop. Could we please one day get functional bus shelters? Surely someone manufactures shelters that are attractive and truly shelter?
